Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce to host Candidates Forum, October 19^th, 2017
 
The Port Wentworth Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Candidates Forum, Thursday, October 19, beginning at 7:00pm at the Holiday Inn Express, 7210 GA Hwy. 21, Port Wentworth. Doors will open to the public at 6:00pm.
 
All candidates running in the 2017 Port Wentworth Municipal Election have been invited to participate and all candidates have confirmed participation. (Council Candidates) At-Large: Rufus Bright, Jr., Maurice Rahn, Linda Smith; District 1: Sharilyn Dyal, Barbara Powers (incumbent); District 3: Lynwood Griner, Debbie Johnson (incumbent); Mayor: Tim Holbrook, Gary Norton.

“The purpose of this forum,” says Port Wentworth Chamber Board Chair C.J. Neesmith, “is to give candidates an opportunity to address a wide range of issues that affect our community as well as issues that are vital to our city’s future.”
 
All questions asked will be generated by the audience. The public is invited to attend and may submit questions on site, in writing, between the hours of 6:00pm-6:30pm. They may also submit questions in advance through the Chamber website, www.VisitPortWentworth.com , until 5:00pm on October 18^th.

The moderator, Claire Beverly, News & Public Affairs Director of Alpha Media, will give each candidate the opportunity to give an opening statement, followed by a series of questions generated by the audience. Members of the audience and news media will have the opportunity to ask candidates additional questions if time permits.
